Problem

Visa case managers were tracking applications, documents, and deadlines manually across spreadsheets and email threads, which caused missed deadlines and duplicate data entry.

Solution

Built OCR-powered document intake that auto-populates applicant data, a task management module with assignable deadlines and status workflows, a step-by-step verification checklist, and Stripe billing with webhook-driven subscription and payment recovery.

My role

Backend architecture, RESTful API design, database schema design, OCR pipeline integration, and Stripe billing integration.

Impact

Cut manual data entry significantly, centralized visa processing into one system, and reduced missed-deadline incidents through automated task tracking.

Worked on an existing visa management SaaS platform — analysed the legacy codebase, resolved bugs, and added major new features while maintaining production stability. Integrated OCR to automatically extract and populate data from uploaded visa and identity documents, reducing manual data entry. Designed a Task Management module letting case managers create, assign, track, and close tasks with deadlines and status workflows. Built a Checklist module for structured step-by-step verification of visa applications. Integrated Stripe for subscription billing and one-time payments, including webhook handling for payment confirmation and failed-payment recovery.
